Guidelines
At Líberman, we foster a literary dialogue that bridges Canadian and Hispanic cultures. We promote reading as a social necessity, publishing works that inspire creativity, critical thinking, and active participation. We focus on Canadian literature translated into Spanish and Hispanic literature in Canada, with a special emphasis on themes like Indigenous voices, feminism, climate change, decolonial movements, and intergenerational stories.
If your manuscript aligns with our vision, we encourage you to submit it for consideration. Please review our guidelines below.
What We’re Looking For
Canadian Literature: Works writen in English or French that highlight Canadian culture, especially Indigenous voices or new authors exploring topics such as feminism, climate change, identity, migration, intergenerational trauma, cultural exchange and decolonial movements.
Hispanic Literature: Stories by Spanish or Latin American authors that resonate with themes of feminism, climate change, identity, migration, intergenerational trauma, cultural exchange and decolonial movements.
Translations: Manuscripts that help build a literary bridge between Canadian and Hispanic cultures.
We only welcome submissions of fiction.
How to Submit
Manuscript Format:
File type: Submit your manuscript as a PDF document (.pdf).
Font: Use Arial or Georgia, 12-point size.
Spacing: Double-spaced with 1-inch margins.
Length: Include the first three chapters (or approximately 30 pages) for initial review.
Cover Letter:
Introduce yourself and your work.
Highlight why your manuscript fits Líberman’s mission.
Provide a brief bio with relevant writing experience or credentials.
Synopsis:
Include a one-page synopsis summarizing your manuscript’s key themes and plot.
Complete Manuscript:
Be prepared to submit the full manuscript upon request.
Submission Process
Send your submission by filling out our form at the end of this page.
Subject Line: Use “Manuscript Submission – [Your Book Title]” as the email subject.
Attach your cover letter, synopsis, and sample chapters in a separate file.
What Happens Next?
Review Timeline: We will review your submission within 3–6 months. If we are interested in your work, we will contact you directly.
Feedback: Due to the volume of submissions, we may not provide detailed feedback unless the manuscript is under serious consideration.

We prioritize works that align with our mission to amplify underrepresented voices and foster cultural exchange.
Submissions must be original and unpublished.
If your work includes translations or previously copyrighted material, please ensure all necessary permissions are obtained.
